RULES AND CONDITIONS

 

1.         Open to three year old fillies or geldings registered with The Irish Horse Board

2.         Qualifiers will be held at registered shows.

3.         One filly and one gelding may qualify from each show

4.           Passports must be available for inspection at qualifying rounds and on the day of the Final. No entry will be allowed to compete in the Final without producing their passport prior to judging – this rule will be strictly applied.

5.         Horses will be judges on type, conformation and movement.

6.           On completion of judging at qualifiers the successful qualifier will be given the relevant documentation by the ring steward. This must be completed and returned, along with the appropriate entry fee, to the Secretary of The Oughterard Show within seven days. – This rule will be strictly applied.

7.         Random dope testing may be carried out on the day of the Final.

8.           Any objection or complaints must be lodged in writing with the show secretary within half an hour following the completion of the competition, together with €50, which is refundable in the event of the objection being upheld.

9.         The Oughterard Show committee in consultation with the sponsor reserves the right    to amend the rules as may be deemed necessary.

In the event of a tie at the conclusion of the judging the combination awarded the highest points in Movement Phase will be deemed to be the winner. If there is still a tie, the combination with the highest points in the Conformation phase will be deemed the winner. Exhibitors may request to see his or her marks  only at the conclusion of the final.

 

Prize Fund

 

Prizes: 1st place €1,000 plus Rug and Sash  2nd Prize: €500. 3rd prize: €350. 4th  €250., 5th    €200. and 6th  € 150.  All other finalists, at appearance at the Final, will receive €50. In addition if a Filly wins the highest placed Gelding will receive an additional €150 and visa versa
