Horses to be judged in Ring 2

Prize money: €300 per class as follows: 1st €150, 2nd €100, 3rd €50.

Prize money in the Horse section will be held back until the Champion Horse of the Show is held in the hope of encouraging 1st Prize winners to participate in the Champion Horse of the Show.

ALL ENTRIES OF THIS SECTION MUST HAVE IDENTIFICATION CERTIFICATES AND PASSPORTS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION.

Please note:  Foals should be shown with mares in appropriate classes. All foals to be led with a head collar. Plaiting permitted at owner’s discretion.

Horse Classes

Judging starts promptly at 10.30am

CLASS 30.  REGISTERED YEARLING ID FILLY, COLT/GELDING, PROGENY OF A R.I.D. MARE AND R.I.D. STALLION.

CLASS 31.  2  YEAR OLD ID FILLY OR GELDING PROGENY OF A R.I.D. MARE AND R.I.D. STALLION.

CLASS 32.  3 YEAR OLD ID FILLY OR GELDING PROGENY OF A R.I.D. MARE AND R.I.D. STALLION.

CLASS 33. REG IRISH DRAUGHT MARE (OPEN).  4 yrs old or over. Reg. number must be stated on entry forms and owners must produce passports on show day.

Confined Section: This class also includes a Confined Section to the Oughterard parish.

CLASS 34. REGISTERED IRISH DRAUGHT FOAL PROGENY OF R.I.D. MARE AND R.I.D. STALLION (This class is also the FBD ALL IRELAND CHAMPION IRISH DRAUGHT FOAL QUALIFIER).  Passport and Reg. No. must be produced for inspection. Foals qualified for the FBD final are not eligible for this class.

CLASS 35. YEARLING FILLY, COLT, GELDING CALCULATED TO MAKE A HUNTER. Progeny of an IHR or Weatherbys Non Thoroughbred Registered Sire and Dam. Reg. number must be stated on entry forms and owners must produce passports on show day.

CLASS 36. TWO YEAR OLD FILLY OR GELDING CALCULATED TO MAKE A HUNTER. Progeny of an IHR or Weatherbys Non Thoroughbred Registered Sire and Dam. Reg. number must be stated on entry forms and owners must produce passports on show day.

CLASS 37. REGISTERED BROOD MARE 4 YEARS OLD AND OVER CALCULATED TO MAKE A HUNTER. Registered with the IHR or Weatherbys Non Thoroughbred Register. Reg. number must be stated on entry forms and owners must produce passports on show day.

CLASS 38. FOAL - FILLY OR COLT CALCULATED TO MAKE A HUNTER. Progeny of an IHR or Weatherbys Non Thoroughbred Registered Sire and Dam. Reg. number must be stated on entry forms and owners must produce passports on show day.

CLASS 39. MARE & FOAL UNIT for mares registered with I.H.R. or Weatherbys Non Thoroughbred Register. Reg. number must be stated on entry forms and owners must produce passports on show day.

AT 3 P.M. - 4 P.M.)
