CLASS 1 .THE ISA AND THE OUGHTERARD SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT THE QUALIFIER FOR THE CONNEMARA YEARLING FILLEY ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIP

Rules and Conditions

1. This championship is confined to Connemara Yearling Filly

2. The progeny of a Registered Connemara Sire and Registered Connemara Dam

3. Exhibitors in both the Qualifier and the Final must have the CPBS passport ready for inspection prior toentering the ring, failure todo so will result in disqualification.

4. Two ponies may be selected for the final provising the judges and ISA consider the standard is high enough.

5. One of the judges must be on the CBPS judges list

6. Ponies qualified for the Final are not eligible for entry into other class at Clonaslee Show

7. These rules to be read in conjunction with ISA rules.

Rules and Conditions

1. This championship is confined to Connemara Two Year Old Filley

2. the progeny of a Registered Connemar Sire and Registered Connemara Dam

3. Exhibitors in both the Qualifier and the Final must have the CPBS passport ready for inspection prior toentering the ring, failure to doso will result in disqualification

4. Two ponies may be selected for the Fianl providing the judges and ISA consider the standard is high enough.

5. One of th judges must be on the CBPS judges list

6. Ponies qualified for th Final are not eligible for entry into other class in Ballinasloe.

7. These rules tobe read in conjunction with ISA rules.

CLASS 4. YEARLING FILLY , progeny of Reg Connemara Mare & Reg Connemara Stallion.The winnerto go forward as the qualifier for the Connemara Yearling Filly All Ireland Championship Final in Clonaslee Show September 14th 2008.

CLASS 5. 2 YEAR OLD REG CONNEMARA PONY COLT.  progeny of Reg. Connemara Mare & Reg Connemara Stallion.

CLASS 6.  2 YEAR OLD REG FILLY.progeny of Reg Connemara Mare & Reg Connemara Stallion. The winner of this will go forward as the qualifier for the Connemara Two Year Old Filley All Ireland Championship Fianl at BAllinasloe Show on October 6th 2008

CLASS 7. 3 YEAR OLD REG CONNEMARA PONY COLT. progeny of Reg Connemara Mare & Reg Connemar Stallion .

CLASS 8.  3 YEAR OLD REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE

 

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

(Open to 1st & 2nd Prizewinners from Classes 3 – 8).

Prize fund: €200

 

 

CLASS 9   4 YEAR OLD REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE –if mare has foaled, foal must be shown


CLASS 10. THE “SMALLER TYPE” REG. CONNEMARA PONY MARE.

Rules & conditions:

i.          Ponies 3 years old and upwards are eligible.

ii.         Height on registration certificate must not exceed 13.2’ (138 cms).

iii.         Ponies will be measured on the day and must not exceed 13.2’.   

Entry fee non-refundable.

CLASS 11. REG CONNEMARA PONY BAY MARE 2 year old and over (with black points, black mane and tail).

CLASS 12.  REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE without foal at foot (5-10yrs).

CLASS 13.  REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE with foal at foot (5-10 yrs).

CLASS 14.  REG CONNEMARA PONY STALLION. The Canavan Trophy. Prizefund €500.

CLASS 15. REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE without foal at foot (11-19 yrs).

CLASS 16. REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE with foal at foot (11-19 yrs). 

CLASS 17. REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE with or without foal at foot and owned by a resident of the Oughterard parish.    

CLASS 18. REG CONNEMARA PONY MARE with or without foal at foot (20 yrs & OVER). N.B. Reg Papers must be presented before judging commences.

 

 

CHAMPION PONY OF SHOW

(Open to 1st & 2nd Prize-winners of classes 9-18 )

Winner of Junior Championship).

Prizefund: €250.


Connemara Foal Classes

Judging starts promptly at 9am in Ring 2

 

Prize money: €175 per class as follows: 1st €100, 2nd €50, 3rd €25.


Entry Fee: €12

 

CLASS 10 and 20 are also qualifiers for the All Ireland Registered Connemara Foal Championship to be held in Portadown on September 2008.

(Open to 1st  & 2nd prize winners of classes 17, 18 and 19)

Judging commences at 9.00am.   Classes may be divided into two rings.

 

Non IPS members pay daily insurance at a charge of €5 with the first entry. This is payable with entries, if entering classes 23,25,26,27,28,29,30

  

CLASS 22. THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION AND THE OUGHTERARD SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT QUALIFIER FOR THE CONNEMARA PONY GELDING ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIP (TO BE SHOWN UNDER SADDLE).

  • This championship is confined to Registered Connemara Pony Gelding five year old and upwards to be shown under saddle.
  • The progeny of Registered Connemara Sire and Registered Connemara Dam.
  • Exhibitors in both the Qualifier and the Final must have the CPBS Passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring.  Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • More than one Pony may be selected at each qualifying show provided the judges agree the standard is high enough, but not more than three.

 

Entry fee to Qualifying Show: €10


Entry fee to Final: €20

CLASS 24.  REGISTERED CONNEMARA GELDING 2 YRS OLD AND OVER, SHOWN IN HAND.

CLASS 25. RIDDEN REGISTERED CONNEMARA PONY. Rider under 16 on 01/01/08.


Confined Section: Kathleen Maloney Plaque to be presented to the best rider in the parishes of Oughterard, Killannin and Moycullen.

CLASS 26. RIDDEN REGISTERED CONNEMARA PONY. Rider over 16 on 01/01/08.

CLASS 27. OPEN SHOW HUNTER NOT EXCEEDING 133cm. To be ridden by a rider under 14

CLASS 28. OPEN SHOW HUNTER NOT EXCEEDING 143cms.To be ridden by a rider under 17.

CLASS 29. OPEN SHOW HUNTER NOT EXCEEDING 153cms.To be ridden by a rider under 20.

CLASS 30 YOUNG HANDLERS CLASS – PONY, MARE OR GELDING TO BE SHOWN IN HAND  - child under 16 01/01/08

CLASS 31. OPEN SIDE SADDLECLASS FOR PONY,MARE OR GELDING 4YRS OLD AND OVER.Rider must be wearing hunter costume.

 

 

RIDDEN CHAMPIONSHIP OF SHOW

Champion €100 plus sash    Reserve €50 plus sash

(Open to 1st  & 2nd Prize-winners of classes 21, 22, 24 and 25)

 

A special event to mark the 25th anniversary of the Connemara Performance Championship, now known as The Power’s Quarry International Performance Registered Connemara Pony Championship, will take place prior to the start of this year’s competition.

 

 

 

Powers Quarry International Performance Connemara Championship Starting at 2.00 p.m.

 

 

All ponies must be presented for Passport Inspection at approx 12.30 p.m. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the Final.

Announcements will be made as to where and when the inspections will take place. Rider birth certificates must also be available for inspection.
